Sun Action Trackers Helps Power Virginia Hospital

The Carilion Hospital System recently finished installation and commissioning of a 1.28 MW Single Axis Tracker system to help supplement power needs and to provide provisional power backup for the entire hospital during power outages.  Estimated to produce up to 20% of the hospitals power needs annually, the Sun Action Trackers nanogrid will also offer the hospital cost savings that they intend to pass along to its patients.

“As expensive as health care is, anything that we can do to keep our costs down can be passed along to our patients ultimately,” Bill Flattery, CEO of Carilion New River Valley Medical Center and vice president of Carilion’s western region operations, said.
